But God has so composed the body, giving greater honor to the part that lacked it, that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together.
1 CORINTHIANS 12:24-26 (ESV)
KNOW
God took the first step toward us while we were still far from Him. Likewise, we aim to take the first step to connect with others by knowing their hearts, their affections, and what makes them who they are, for the purpose of deep, caring involvement.
BE KNOWN
Church has become a place where people often hide and put on masks. We present a pleasant outer face, but inwardly we are hurting, broken, and alone. We want to make a safe and secure environment where we can all be known in true authenticity and genuineness.
CARE
As soon as we are relationally connected in knowing and being known, we start to choose to care for one another. We look to each other’s needs and seek to look to the interests of others. Caring cannot be faked; it must be our heart’s true desire.
ACT
The final step of relational connection with each other is to act on our knowledge and care for one another. Tangibly meeting needs and coming through for each other’s benefit demonstrates that we as the body of Christ are connected not only with our hearts, but also with our hands.
